What will be evaluated?
Ball Handling - Shooting - Rebounding - Passing - Left handed Layups - Right handed Layups
Passing - Footwork - Basketball IQ - Coachability - Athleticism - Potential
Various drills will be divided into categories every drill will be scored,  and then multiplied by a predetermined strength number to ultimately give a weighted score per categorey.
The weighted scores for each categorey will be added to give an overall weighted score.
Although  weighted score over 5.5 is usually a good score each player is evaluated by position
and his scores are compared to the other scores for that position.
No matter how hard you work or how nice a person you are, a college coach or recruiter won't come calling unless you've got the skills to play at a high level. They don't care if a player takes 500 shots a day if 400 of those shots are bricks.
Do You Got Brain - Coaches love smart players who can follow a system and a game plan. They like players with good concentration skills who won't get distracted by crowd noise or trash talking and who can make quick adjustments on the court. Perfect Practice - Coaches always emphasize that good practice habits lead to good games. Don't be a slacker and dont think you can take it easy because "Its jut practice"
Are You a Team Player? - Coaches look for players who are confident of their skills and want to have the ball in their hands. But they also want a player is able to work well with teammates. Do you make your teammates better?  Are you willing to sacrifice some of your playing time to help the team win?
Going to a traveling team is a good idea. It'll give you a chance to play with different players and an opportunity to get seen, Many coaches and recruiters also attend sanctioned games to look for potential players
Where do I fit ?
1) Point Guard - The point guard runs the offense and watches the backcourt. His role is so important to the team that he is really an extension of the coach on the floor. He must have these qualities:
- Instinctive knowledge of the game
- Complete control as a ball handler
- Possesses great court vision to read defenses
- Athletically fast and quick on his feet
- Must be defensively sound
But above all his ego must not interfere with his basketball judgement

2) Shooting Guard/Off Guard - This guard is generally the better shooter of the two guards. The qualities that he needs to possess are :
- Instinctive knowledge of the game
- Good ball handler
- Good skills as a passer
- Possess speed and is quick on his feet
- Solid defender
- Cpnsistently able to hit from 15 - 20 feet
- Must know how to move without the ball
He must also be a student of the offense so that he cna step in for the point guard and run the offense.

3) Center - The center is arguably one of the most important players on the team. Normally he is the tallest player on the floor. The qualities he must possess are.
- A monster on the boards
- A dependable scorer at short and mid range
- Defensive leadership always talking to his teammates
- Able to see the floor and hit the open man if his shot is not there
- Able to read how hw is being defended and to takes advantage of this when he is posting-up
Must have strong hands, good uppoer body strength , and good jumping ability.

4) Small Forward - The small forward is the most gifted player on the team. He should possess the following characteristics:
- Athletically gifted
- Adequate rebounder
- Solid passer
- Sound ball handling skills
- Superb all-around defender
Most of all the small forward must be a good scorer capable of shooting from anywhere from the wings aroung the key and under the boards

5) Power Forward - Like the point guard the power or strong forward does not receive much recognition usually if he's doing his hob well his role as he plyer doing the dirty work is taken fro granted. He must possess the following characteristics:
- Monster on both sides of the glass
- Adequate passer
- Adequate scorer
- Play big in the paint
- Great defender
The power forward must stand up the opposition and be an enforcer at both ends of the court.


This is the coach's best friend. He is the guy who has set aside his ego so that he can come off the bench at a moments notice and fall right into the flow. He's able to do whatever is necessaryto helpl his team win.
Sometimes his role calls for him to score, play exceptional defense or a combination of the two. Whatever hw's capable of doing  the sixth man is an important component to the game. He satisfies his coachs quest for an advantage particularly when the game is close , He's a spark plug, capable of pickking up the tempo when play gets sluggish.
Since he doesn't start the game, he gives his team quality minutes when he plays.
